Chocolate and Ginger...Soulmates

Chocolate Ginger Chunk Cookies

By now, you will realize that we LOVE LOVE LOVE chocolate and we are huge fans of ginger, so naturally, we combined them and found the most delicious cookie recipe. This is our FAVOURITE cookie recipe because it adds a kick of spice to the classic chocolate chunk cookie. This is definitely a recipe worth making during the holiday season (or any time of the year!)

Inspired By Vanilla

Orange Vanilla Bean Cupcake

Life is all about trying new things. How can you really enjoy yourself if don't widen your boundaries, and see whats out there? We're not saying we went out and traveled the world or anything, but we did try something new. Our story goes like this: we have always seen recipes that use vanilla pods, but we would just skip over them, trying to stay in our comfort zone. This week we said "NO! We are gonna try this!", and we did. We asked our mom to pick us up two vanilla pods. And when we found this recipe the following day, we new it was a sign.

Never Too Much Chocolate!

Chocolate Zucchini Cake
Last weekend, our mom was desparate to get rid of some of the zucchini's she inherited from my uncle's garden, so we decided to help her out by making a chocolate zucchini cake. We were a little hesitant at first because we thought it would taste awfully dense and hard (unfortunately from past experiences)....boy were we wrong! This was...and were not exaggerating... the most moist and fluffy cake we've ever encountered! A special thank you goes out to our cousin Nicole (bakemeblush.blogspot.com) for snapping some of the best photo's of this exquisite cake (she too was drooling over this cake).

Pear Frenzy Part 2

Poached Pear Stuffed with Chocolate

Part 2 is finally here! We had so much fun baking with Nicole (bakemeblush) and our friend Jaclyn! Now we can finally say that we have poached pears! We have always wanted to try it, and when our mom came home with a bunch of pears, we took the opputunity! We decided to add the chocolate in the middle because who doesn't love a choclate surprise! I think every baker, at one point or another, needs to attempt to poach some pears! You just have to!

Pear Frenzy Part 1

Pear Crumble
Mmm Mmm Mmm. That pretty much sums up my feelings toward this crumble! I am a crumble lover, the oats and brown sugar, the crumble, the sweetness, how can you not fall in love! I especially love the nutmeg and pear together, they make a good pear (you knew there was going to be puns!) But if you're a cinnamon lover just make a switch! I would really like to thank my cousin Nicole who helped us bake and who took these fantastic pictures! I would also like to thank my Uncle Sal who provided us with these Mini Cocottes !

Mini Molten Chocolate Cocottes

Heavenly. I think that's this is the only word that I can use to describe this dessert. This looks like an ordinary chocolate cake, but on the inside, it's filled with light and fluffy mousse. The best part about it is that it was SO EASY! It is to die for DELICIOUS!

Biscotte al Café

This is definitely our go-to chocolate cookie recipe, but it is so much more than just chocolate. The mix between the espresso and chocolate give it the dense texture it needs but the lemon icing...SPEECHLESS! We hope you enjoy our secret family recipe!
